WALTON CORNERSTONE

Walton Cornerstone is a Community Enterprise Centre and our aim is to aid community cohesion by providing space for local community and enterprise activity. At present the centre regularly houses activities which are enjoyed by more than 200 members of the local community every week. We are looking forward to seeing this number multiply upon completion of the refurbishment of the building which is due to start in Spring 2010.

The building is the fourth school built by Walton Church, the first dating from the early 1600’s. This school opened in 1897 and was the junior department of the Walton St Mary C of E Primary school. The infant department relocated to the same site in the 1990’s and in 2009 Walton St Mary and Arnot street school joined together on the Arnot site to become Arnot, St Mary C of E school. The present building was then handed over to Walton Community & Enterprise Partnership and renamed ‘Walton Cornerstone’
